What is a tincture?
An herb, plant, or nature-made product is submerged in alcohol for 6-8 weeks. During this submersion, the alcohol pulls the medicinal properties out of the matter and into the liquid. After 6-8 weeks the alcohol has taken on the medicinal properties and solid matter is strained out. The tincture can then be bottle and used.
How do you take a tincture?
The most effective way to take a tincture is by placing drops under your tongue and letting it absorb. This is the quickest manner. You may also not be able to tolerate the taste and can put the drops into another liquid (water, juice, ect) to help dilute the taste. This method will make the taste more tolerable but may take longer for you body to feel the effects.
Will these ingredients interact with my pharmaceuticals?
The simple answer is, they might. It depends on the pharmaceutical and the natural ingredient. There are certain interactions that can be life threatening.
